Eric Garcia: We made the match difficult for ourselves, and we need to learn from our mistakes

Eric García, defender of FC Barcelona, spoke about the 4-2 victory over Levante, confirming that the team made the match harder on themselves than necessary, and stressing the importance of learning from the two goals conceded in the final minutes.

Eric Garcia said: "The timing, the heat, and the pitch did not help us or them; it is a difficult ground, and the coach told us they have not lost here since March."

He added: "I think we made the game harder for ourselves than it needed to be; what happened should serve as a lesson for us, because when you give any opponent some space, they press you and get close to you."

Barcelona defender spoke about the mistakes that contributed to Levante's return to the match, saying: "These are mistakes we know we can avoid. Overall, we played a good match, and we can be happy."

Eric Garcia praised his teammate Xavi Espart, who scored his first goal with the first team despite the mistake he made during the match, confirming that the player has great confidence from head coach Hans Flick.

He explained: "The coach proves that he trusts him completely, and he is responding to this trust. He is playing very well, and we have to be very happy with him; he must continue to work."

Regarding the competition within the ranks of Barcelona, he said: "The team is characterized by competition in all positions; no player can feel secure in their place."

Eric discussed the team's playing style, highlighting that Barcelona have many players capable of contributing to build-up play, but the greatest danger comes from the attacking elements.

He said: "We feel comfortable with the ball, and we have midfielders and defenders who can play the ball very well. Up front, we have monsters and strong players who can cause a lot of damage in spaces."
