Laporta Closes the Door on Messi's Return
Barcelona president Joan Laporta said that the return of the Argentine legend Lionel Messi to the club as a player is not currently being considered, stressing that it is unrealistic given Messi's contract with his current club Inter Miami.
Laporta stated: "The return of Lionel Messi as a player is unrealistic. For now, he has a contract with Inter Miami."
The Catalan club president added: "The club is working on a project for the present and the future. Things are complicated, and if you live in the past, you will not move forward."
These statements reflect Barcelona's management's desire to focus on building a new team capable of competing, away from relying on Messi's return despite his historic status within the club.
It is worth noting that Messi recently renewed his contract with the American club until the summer of 2028.
