The Wydad Athletic Club continued its streak of positive results with an exciting victory over Olympique Safi, winning 2-1 in the match held this evening as part of the eighth round of the Moroccan professional league.

South African Thiminkosi opened the scoring for Wydad in the 26th minute, before the veteran Nourredine Amrabat added the second goal in the 45+5 minute from a penalty kick, ending the first half with the red team leading 2-0.

In the second half, Olympique Safi tried to come back in the match and managed to reduce the deficit through Sofiane El Mouden with a penalty in the 80th minute, but Wydad's defense remained steadfast until the final whistle.

With this victory, Wydad Athletic Club raised its points to 20 at the top of the standings, while Olympique Safi's points remained at 5 in last place, increasing the pressure on the Safi team ahead of the upcoming rounds.
