Hakimi and Ziyech Lead the List of Most Appearances with Morocco in the World Cup

The duo Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech are the most capped players in the history of the Moroccan national team at the World Cup finals, each having played 10 matches across the Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 editions, topping the list of players with the most appearances for the "Atlas Lions" in the global event.

All of Hakimi and Ziyech's matches came during two World Cup participations, with each playing three matches in the 2018 edition, where the Moroccan team exited the competition in the group stage. They then added seven more matches during the historic achievement in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, when Morocco reached the semi-finals and finished the tournament in fourth place globally.

Following the leading duo are Sofyan Amrabat, Romain Saïss, and Youssef En-Nesyri, each with 8 matches. Amrabat participated in one match during the 2018 World Cup and seven matches in the 2022 edition. Saïss played two matches in Russia 2018 and six matches in Qatar 2022, while En-Nesyri played one match in the 2018 edition and seven matches during the historic journey in Qatar.

The list also includes several stars from the generation that achieved the 2022 World Cup success, with Selim Amallah, Sofiane Boufal, and Azzedine Ounahi each participating in 7 matches, while Yahya Attiat-Allah and Jawad El Yamiq played 6 matches each during the same tournament.

As for the goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, he appeared in 6 World Cup matches, all during the Qatar 2022 edition, after not participating in any match during the Russia 2018 World Cup, contributing significantly to the best achievement in the history of Moroccan football.

In the list of historical names, Mustapha Hadji stands out as one of the most capped Moroccan players in the World Cup, having played 6 matches equally divided between the 1994 United States edition and the 1998 France edition.
