The management of Saudi club Al-Ittihad has begun serious efforts to secure the future of the team's star, Abdulrahman Al-Aboud, before he enters the free period of his contract, in order to maintain one of the most important pillars of the attacking team in the upcoming seasons.

The newspaper 'Al-Riyadiyah' revealed that Al-Ittihad's management plans to activate the contract extension clause for an additional season, allowing the player to remain with the club until the summer of 2027, in a move aimed at avoiding his departure for free next summer.

The Al-Ittihad winger is approaching the free period in January 2026, which allows him to sign with any club without going back to his club's management, making early administrative action a necessity to resolve the issue before the end of the year.

The current contract for Al-Aboud includes an automatic extension clause for an additional season, which the management is working to officially activate before the contract ends in December, as part of the club's plan to maintain its technical and structural stability.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Aboud joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2019 from Al-Ettifaq, where he progressed through its youth categories before emerging as one of the most prominent Saudi wingers in the Roshan League.

The player has participated in 148 matches wearing the Al-Ittihad jersey across various competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 22 assists, while this season he has played in 7 matches and contributed to one goal, confirming his importance within the team's structure.

The management of Al-Ittihad aims with this step to ensure technical stability and maintain the core of the team, especially in light of the strong competition the club is facing this season on both local and continental levels.
