The medical staff of the Saudi Union Club has begun working on preparing Karim Benzema, the French team captain, for the upcoming match against Al-Hilal scheduled for next Friday as part of the sixth round of the Roshan Saudi League.

Sources have reported that Benzema is suffering from a bruise in his right calf, which will keep him out of his team's match tomorrow against the Iraqi Police in the third round of the AFC Champions League.

The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper mentioned that the Union has set up an intensive rehabilitation program for the Frenchman, aimed at his quick recovery and enabling him to participate in the crucial match against Al-Hilal at the end of the week.

This comes in light of the team's modest results at the Asian level, after losing in the first and second rounds against Al-Wahda from the UAE and Shabab Al-Ahli with scores of 2-1 and 1-0 respectively.

On the local front, the Union managed to secure only one point after drawing with Al-Faihah 1-1 last Friday in the fifth round of the Saudi league, which has increased the importance of Benzema's return to strengthen the team's attack.

The coaching staff hopes that the player will be in full readiness for the match against Al-Hilal, which will be a significant test for the team's spirit and its ability to compete for the top of the Roshan Saudi League.
