The Police Stimulates Its Fans with an Exciting Administrative Decision Before the Match Against Al-Ittihad
Monday 20-10-2025
The management of Al-Shorta Club has made an important decision aimed at encouraging the fans to attend in large numbers for the team's match against Saudi Al-Ittihad, this evening, Monday, as part of the third round of the 2025/2026 AFC Champions League.

The anticipated match will take place at the International City Stadium in Baghdad, amidst wide public anticipation, as the management of the Green Lyre seeks to ensure a strong turnout to support the team in its challenging Asian mission.

The management decided to launch the ticket sales process at the kiosks of Al-Shaab International Stadium, at a symbolic price of only 5,000 Iraqi dinars (about 4 US dollars), in a move aimed at making attendance accessible to all segments of the fans.

This decision came in response to the demands of Al-Shorta fans and other Iraqi fans, who had previously complained about the high ticket prices for local and Asian matches, which prevented many of them from attending.

The club's management confirmed that the goal is to fill the stands of the city stadium completely and support the team in one of its most significant matches this season, especially after unsatisfactory results in the previous two rounds.

For its part, the Ultras Al-Qithara Association continued its efforts through social media and in the streets of Baghdad, calling on fans to arrive early at the stadium and encourage the team until the last minute, confirming that today's match will be the perfect opportunity to achieve the first victory in the elite AFC Champions League.

The Al-Shorta team had drawn in the first round against Qatari Al-Sadd with a score of (1-1), and lost in the second round to Qatari Al-Gharafa with a score of (0-2), making today's match pivotal for regaining balance and returning to the winning path.

The city stadium is expected to witness a massive turnout, especially with the announcement from the fans of several Iraqi clubs expressing their desire to support the Green Lyre, in solidarity with the Iraqi fans following what happened in the Iraqi national team's recent match against Saudi Arabia in Jeddah.

The club's management confirmed that it has issued strict instructions to the fan associations to adhere to the spirit of sportsmanship and avoid any chants outside the sports framework, in order to avoid penalties that may be imposed by the Asian Football Confederation.

On the technical side, the team has regained the services of striker Salem Ahmed after recovering from injury and entering full readiness, while Brazilian defender Lucas Moses continues to be absent as he has officially ended his season due to a severe knee injury.
