The Qatar national team has officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup after their valuable win against the UAE national team with a score of 2-1, in the match held this evening, Tuesday, at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, as part of the Asian playoff for the World Cup qualification.

Qatar opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half through Boualem Khoukhi in the 49th minute, before Pedro Miguel added the second goal in the 74th minute, securing the victory for the Maroon and clinching the direct ticket to the World Cup.

In stoppage time, Sultan Al-Ameeri scored the UAE's only goal in the 90+9 minute, but it was not enough to change the result.

The match witnessed a strong performance from both teams, as the UAE team tried to come back into the game without success against the solid Qatari defense, amidst significant support from the home fans.

With this victory, the Qatar national team has officially secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, having topped their group in the Asian playoff with 4 points, outperforming the UAE team, which finished second with 3 points.
