Ferran Torres: From Manchester Experience to Shine in Barcelona
Monday 13-10-2025
The Spanish player Ferran Torres has emerged this season as one of the key pillars of Barcelona's attack, at a time when Polish star Robert Lewandowski is nearing the final stages of his football career.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Torres has currently become the team's primary striker, having scored six goals this season, placing him second on the list of most goal contributions behind Marcus Rashford.

The newspaper clarified that Torres did not start his career as a central striker, but gradually gained experience at Valencia, where coach Albert Celades tried him in the forward position due to the team's absences, after noticing his good goal-scoring instinct and ability to move into space and exploit gaps.

At Manchester City, Torres continued to develop under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, who relied on him as a substitute striker for Sergio Aguero during his injury period, and the player underwent intensive training to improve his movements in the penalty area and how to finish attacks.

Upon his transfer to Barcelona, Torres was one of the first signings that coach Xavi Hernandez bet on, who described him as a world-class player who understands space well and possesses great tactical intelligence. However, Torres did not get enough opportunities to play as a striker with the presence of Aubameyang, Luuk de Jong, Memphis Depay, and later Lewandowski.

The newspaper indicates that current coach Hansi Flick has decided this season to return Torres to the central striker position, relying on him primarily in eight matches so far, considering that he has all the qualities to be the new spearhead for the Catalan team in the present and future.
