Casablanca Hosts Four Crucial Matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers
Tuesday 07-10-2025
The city of Casablanca is preparing to host four prominent matches in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, during the period from October 8 to 14.

According to the announcement by the International Football Federation (FIFA), the Al Arabi Al Zawali Stadium has been selected to host two matches for the Djibouti national team; the first against the Egypt national team on Wednesday, October 8 at 5 PM as part of the ninth round, and the second against Sierra Leone on Sunday, October 12 at 8 PM for the tenth and final round of the qualifiers.

In the same context, the Mohammed V Sports Complex will witness two other matches; the Central African Republic national team will face the Ghanaian team on Wednesday, October 8 at 5 PM, and the matches will conclude with a meeting between Guinea and Botswana on Tuesday, October 14 at the same time.

The choice of Casablanca to host these matches comes after the decision by the African Football Confederation (CAF) to not approve more than 20 stadiums on the continent for failing to meet international standards, making Morocco's economic capital the ideal choice to host these important encounters that will determine the qualifiers for the World Cup.
