Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, spoke about the famous case when Portuguese star Luis Figo transferred from Barça to arch-rivals Real Madrid in 2000.
This comes at a time when Figo will attend the Barcelona stadium to watch the Catalan team's match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, as a member of UEFA.
Laporta stated regarding this matter: "Luis Figo is a member of the UEFA board, and we fully respect that."
He added: "He was a player for Barcelona, and we remember the amazing nights and days he gave us, after which he made that decision."
He concluded: "Days pass and life moves on, and therefore he will be received with all the respect he deserves."
