Monday 08-09-2025
Barcelona announced on its official website that Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong has suffered a minor muscular injury in the external hamstring of his right leg, confirming that the extent of the player's recovery will determine the timing of his return to the pitch.

De Jong has participated in two matches with the Catalan team since the start of the 2025/2026 season, where he played a full 90 minutes in the victory over Real Mallorca with a score of 3-0 in the first round of La Liga, and he also started in the team's last match before the international break, which ended in a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

On the national team front, De Jong started the match for his country, the Netherlands, against Poland, which also ended in a 1-1 draw, before being substituted in the 83rd minute after feeling muscular pain, leading him to withdraw from the national team's camp and return to Barcelona for treatment.

The club's medical staff is monitoring the player's condition, hoping to have him back as soon as possible, especially with the team's Champions League campaign approaching.
