Friday 05-09-2025
Lautaro Martínez, captain of Inter Milan, scored his 33rd international goal for the Argentina national team during the 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Venezuela, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Argentina.

Lautaro's goal came just two minutes after he entered as a substitute in the second half with an excellent header, following a precise cross from Nicolás González.

With this goal, Lautaro surpassed the Argentine and Napoli legend, Diego Maradona, who scored 32 goals for the Argentina national team, making him the fifth-best scorer in the history of the Tango.

Lautaro ranks fifth behind Lionel Messi with 114 goals, Gabriel Batistuta with 55 goals, Sergio Agüero with 41 goals, and Hernán Crespo with 35 goals.
