Aston Villa Football Club announced on its official website the signing of Swedish international defender Victor Lindelof on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Manchester United at the conclusion of last season.

Lindelof is considered one of the top defenders in Europe, as he captains the Swedish national team and has 71 international appearances to his name. The player is known for his ability to play in multiple defensive positions, providing the team with various tactical options.

The 30-year-old defender spent eight successful seasons with Manchester United, during which he won the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, regularly participating in domestic and continental competitions.

Before moving to Old Trafford, Lindelof shone with Portuguese club Benfica, where he won several titles after starting his professional career in his home country of Sweden, and today he continues his football journey with Aston Villa, aiming for new ambitions in the Premier League.
