The draw exempted Wydad from participating in the first preliminary round, allowing them to start their journey in the next round against the winner of the match between Ghana's Asante Kotoko and Nigeria's Kwara United. The red team will play the first leg away from home, while they will host the second leg in Morocco.
On the other hand, Olympique Safi, the Throne Cup champion, will begin their journey from the first preliminary round against Niger's Nigelec, with the first leg taking place in Niamey, while the return match will be held at the Green March Stadium.
