Spanish newspaper "AS" confirmed that Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski will not start his journey in La Liga this season due to an injury in the hamstring of his left leg, which could keep him off the field for up to three weeks.

The newspaper explained that the player will miss the season opener against Mallorca on August 16, and his participation in the following matches against Levante and Rayo Vallecano depends on the progress of his health condition, with the possibility of his return after the international break in September.

The club confirmed through an official statement Lewandowski's absence from the Gamper Cup match, emphasizing that the evaluation of the injury's progress will determine his return to participate with the team.
