Shakir Al-Jubouri: I Will Not Return to Al-Zawraa Even If We Win the Case
Tuesday 22-07-2025
In strong and direct statements, Shakir Al-Jubouri, a former member of the Al-Zawraa Club management, spoke about the current administrative situation of the club, revealing precise details regarding the case filed before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, along with his opinion on the future of Al-Zawraa and the role played by Dr. Falah Hassan in the current phase.

Al-Jubouri said: "Falah Hassan is the best club president in Iraq since 2003, he is a big name and his history is well-known, and what he is currently doing in efforts to correct the club's situation is commendable."

Despite his optimism about the legal position, Al-Jubouri firmly confirmed that he does not plan to return to administrative work at Al-Zawraa.

He stated: "I will not return to work at Al-Zawraa even if we win the case in the Court of Arbitration, because we have given the club more than it has given us, and I had sold a piece of land and spent from my own money on the team."

Regarding the developments in the case, Al-Jubouri explained that the lawyer assigned to the case informed them of a "high probability" of winning the appeal before the Court of Arbitration, indicating that this legal path represents a step towards reclaiming what he described as the "administrative right," but he emphasized at the same time that he will not return to work even if legal victory is achieved.

Al-Jubouri added: "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani is the one who requested Falah Hassan to lead the interim committee, due to the respect and trust he enjoys at both the sports and governmental levels."

In conclusion, he revealed that there were political interventions that were decisive in the decision to dissolve the management of Al-Zawraa, explaining: "There were clear political pressures on the Iraqi Olympic Committee to make the decision to dissolve the management, despite what we provided in terms of work and effort for the club under complicated circumstances."
