De Winter Rejects Saudi League Offer and Prefers to Stay in Europe
Sources have revealed that Belgian defender Koni De Winter of Genoa has rejected a massive offer from the Saudi league, as he wishes to stay in Europe with Inter Milan showing interest in acquiring his services during the current summer transfer window.
In this regard, Fabrizio Leoni, De Winter's agent, stated that his client is very happy with Genoa and may leave if he receives a suitable offer.
Leoni clarified that Juventus is not interested in bringing De Winter back, and the door for his return is closed for now, while communications have taken place with other clubs, and any new developments regarding his future may occur.
He added: "There are many clubs interested, some of which are already competing in European competitions, and out of respect for the player, I will not mention any club, but of course, the player has his own preferences."
He continued: "It is natural for players to want to compete at the highest level; otherwise, there is no point in transferring. In recent days, Koni received a massive offer from Saudi Arabia, but he did not consider it."
He concluded: "Koni wants to stay in Europe and play in major tournaments, and talks are ongoing. He intends to listen to everyone without bias and then make a calm and considered decision."
