Laporta: We Produce Talents but Real Madrid Buys Them
The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, emphasized the Catalan club's commitment to its unique identity and its distinction in developing young talents, pointing to the fundamental differences between Barcelona's style and that of its traditional rival, Real Madrid.
Laporta said in his remarks: "Between us and Real Madrid, there are different feelings; Real Madrid feels close to power, while we feel our freedom and identity."
He added: "Each side defends its identity, and we thrive on this competition, but there is mutual respect between the two institutions."
He continued: "We rely on formative football, where we produce talents - but they go to the market; Real Madrid does not produce many talents, unlike us, and this makes us proud of who we are; we are more than just a club."
He elaborated: "This season has been one of the toughest in Barcelona's history, but after all the difficulties, we can say that Barcelona has returned to being among the greats."
He concluded: "Our philosophy relies on players who grew up in the club and others who came from outside; this policy works in harmony. We have a clear approach and a distinctive style here, but what I like is this mix of elements from diverse football cultures, yet everyone defends this emblem."
