Journalist Sergio Valentin sparked widespread controversy after revealing new details about Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho's reaction to the case of Argentine star Julian Alvarez, the striker for Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid announced yesterday in an official statement that they had made an offer of 150 million euros to sign Alvarez. However, Atletico Madrid categorically rejected the offer, insisting on receiving the full value of the release clause in the player's contract.

According to what Valentin reported, Mourinho was surprised to learn about Real Madrid's statement through the media, without being informed beforehand by the club, which he considered an unusual stance in a matter of such sensitivity.

Mourinho has already arrived in the Spanish capital, Madrid, where he is preparing to sign his new contract with Real Madrid for two seasons, with an option to extend for a third season if they win the Spanish league title, as part of a new sports project he is leading within the royal club.

It is noted that the club finalized the deal for right-back Denzel Dumfries for 20 million euros from Inter, in addition to defender Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer, awaiting the official announcement of the two deals.
