Monaco Close to Finalizing Fati Deal.. Barcelona Does Not Rule Out Permanent Sale
French club Monaco is getting closer to finalizing the contract with Ansu Fati, Barcelona's winger, during the summer transfer window, amid advanced negotiations between the two clubs to finalize the terms of the deal and salary distribution.
Ansu Fati, 22 years old, whose contract with Barcelona runs until 2027, gave his approval weeks ago to move to Monaco, which is welcomed by the Catalan club.
The preliminary agreement between the two parties is based on loaning the player with an option to buy for 12 million euros, along with a buy-back option for Barcelona and a percentage of any future sale. However, sources within Barcelona do not rule out that the deal could turn into a permanent sale, while the club retains some future privileges.
One of the aspects still under negotiation is how to distribute the salary between the two clubs in case an agreement is reached for the loan, as Monaco has shown willingness to bear a significant portion of it, benefiting from the tax advantages in the principality, which could also benefit Fati by paying lower taxes.
Coach Adi Hütter has personally spoken with Fati, assuring him of a guarantee for continuity and a starting role, especially with Monaco participating in the Champions League next season.
