Brentford Announces Signing of Caoimhín Kelleher

The English club Brentford announced through its official website the signing of Irish international goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher, coming from Liverpool on a permanent deal that extends until the summer of 2030, with an option to extend for an additional season.

Kelleher, who is 26 years old, has significant experience despite his youth, having played 67 matches with Liverpool across various competitions, during which he kept a clean sheet on 24 occasions. He also won two Premier League titles with the Reds, along with other notable trophies including the Champions League and the EFL Cup.

For his part, Phil Giles, Brentford's sporting director, expressed his happiness at completing the deal, confirming that Kelleher has been on the club's radar for a long time, describing him as a distinguished goalkeeper with a positive character both on and off the pitch.

Additionally, Manu Sutilo, the first-team goalkeeping coach, praised the abilities of the Irish goalkeeper, noting that he possesses agility, intelligence, and excellent positioning, expecting significant development under the coaching staff at Brentford.

It is worth mentioning that Kelleher had a remarkable season, participating in 20 matches last season, including 10 in the Premier League, and also played the last 10 matches for the Ireland national team, raising his international tally to 22 matches.
