Lewandowski: This is what we lacked, and there is no difference between my stats now and years ago

Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski appeared in press statements after the 4-1 victory over Girona in the 29th round of La Liga.

Lewandowski said: "We controlled everything in the first half, but we lacked the goal. Perhaps we were more aggressive in the second half. It's important to be patient sometimes and have a clear plan."

He added: "How did you score your goals? The important thing is that we scored four goals. In the early minutes, I had a chance, and in the final minutes, with more space, we might have needed a better pass... but it's okay."

He continued: "I know many have talked about my age, but I always say that I've been working since I was 21 or 22 years old to be able to play for many more years at the elite level. If you look at the data, you won't find a difference between my stats a few years ago and my stats now. But the most important thing is the team. If we stay focused like we are today, we will be dangerous, and we will be able to enjoy football by the end of this season."

Regarding his competition for the Golden Boot this season: "For me, the important thing is the team and helping it. For me, as a striker, it's important to score, of course, because I have confidence. Scoring is always on my mind, as well as winning matches."
