The former Al-Ahly star, Ahmed Schubert, spoke about the surprise of Jose Gomez's departure from coaching Zamalek.

News has spread since yesterday, Tuesday, about Gomez's request to leave his position due to the arrival of an offer from the Saudi Al-Fateh Club.

Schubert said in radio statements on his program on “On Sport FM”: “Since yesterday he had a big incident inside the Zamalek club, and the details are that Gomez had agreed with Zamalek on a renewal session.” Things were fine, and suddenly, a quarter of an hour later, he apologized to club president Hussein Labib.”

He added: “The last few hours Yesterday until dawn, there were desperate attempts, by Hussein Labib and Hani Berzi, to hold on to Gomez and not leave, but the latter was very determined and asked to leave with his entire technical staff, including Ahmed. Magdy".

He continued: “Gomez was taking 65 thousand dollars with Zamalek, and Zamalek thought that he would increase the contract for the first two years by 100 thousand dollars and the second by 110 thousand dollars, but he received more than double this number, perhaps one and a half times, from the Saudi Al-Fateh Club.” ".

Schubert added: "Gomez told them that Zamalek has a 3-month penalty clause for terminating the contract, and I have two months, and therefore you have one month. This caused a shock within the Zamalek club because this man is a great worker."

He concluded: “There is a very great state of anger within the Zamalek Club, and there are attempts by some, but the number is difficult and impossible to reject, and therefore we are waiting for the Zamalek Club’s statement to provide the details.”
