Delay in the Start of the Egyptian League Due to African Nations Cup
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir revealed the possibility of a delay in the start of the Egyptian Premier League due to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "The start of the Egyptian Premier League will be postponed until the last week of August to play matches before the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers."
He explained: "Al Ahly will divide the preparation period into two phases. The first phase will be without the international players who are participating in the World Cup, coinciding with the delay of the league championship. Al Ahly will begin preparations with the rising players until the internationals return."
He continued: "An opportunity will be given to young players to participate in training and the preparation period for the new season, and the decision will be made with the appointment of the new head coach."
Shobeir concluded his statements by saying: "Al Ahly will leave all the details regarding preparations for the new season to the coach, who will determine the method, participants, and his desire to introduce young players."
