Gomez's statements after the Zamalek and Pyramids match
The Portuguese Jose Gomez, coach of Zamalek, appeared to talk about the victory over Pyramids and the chances of the team’s trio joining the final of the Egyptian Super Cup.
The Zamalek team reserved its place in the Egyptian Super Cup final after defeating Pyramids on penalties 5-4 after the match between them ended in a positive draw 1-1.
Gomez said in his statements after the end of the match: “It was a difficult match for both teams. Each team closed the spaces and was careful not to make mistakes, and we committed a mistake that gave us Pyramids the lead goal. They have good players and can pose a threat to any team.”
He pointed out that the high temperature had an impact on both teams in today’s match.
Regarding the chances of the trio Nabil Dunga, Omar Jaber and Mustafa El-Zenari playing in the final match, he replied, saying: “We will see the chances of the injured players in the coming days before playing the final match.”
He continued: “As for the new players, they need time to get into the atmosphere with the team. I have players in every position, and we will not play with 12 players. There are rules in the team, and every player needs... Time to join the team.”
He concluded: “The match ended with small details, and the circumstances of today’s match are different from the confrontation with the family, and we trained well on penalty kicks and won the match.”
