An official statement from CAF regarding the Nigeria national team crisis

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) issued an official statement regarding the crisis that occurred with the Nigerian national team at Al-Abraq Airport in Libya.


CAF stated in an official statement that “ The African Union looks at the disturbing experiences that occurred with the Nigerian national team at one of the Libyan airports very seriously.”


He added that “CAF made many contacts with the Libyan and Nigerian authorities after... He learned about the disturbing things that happened with the Nigerian national team and that it was placed in harsh conditions.


CAF confirmed that the matter had been referred to the Disciplinary Board of the Confederation of African Football in order to investigate and take action. Actions against everyone who participated in this crisis and violated the basic rules and regulations of the Confederation of African Football.


It is worth noting that the Nigerian national team left Libyan territory after remaining at Al-Ebriq Airport. For 12 hours without receiving or receiving anyone, he decided not to play the match against the Libyan national team in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
