Leeds United overcome Tottenham in Premier League
Leeds United secured an important victory against Tottenham with a goal to nil in the match held at Elland Road, as part of the tenth round of the Premier League for the 2026-2027 season.
Noah Okafor scored the only goal of the match in the 79th minute to secure three valuable points for the home side, as the team managed to maintain their lead until the final whistle, despite Tottenham's attempts to come back.
The match saw widespread refereeing controversy in the 37th minute, after Leeds United player Bogl made a strong challenge from behind on Matthias Tell's ankle, causing him to fall in pain on the pitch. Despite reviewing the incident via video technology, the referee decided not to punish the player, either with a yellow or red card.
Matthias Taylor was unable to continue the match after this incident, leaving the pitch in the 43rd minute, and Dominic Solanke came on in his place, in a forced change for the London side.
With this result, Leeds United have raised their tally to 14 points, temporarily moving up to 8th place in the Premier League table, while Tottenham's tally remains at 12 points in 10th place after another defeat in their campaign.
