Bayern Munich dreams of signing Antonio Nusa for £50 million
Bayern Munich are continuing their search for a new winger to bolster their attacking options, either during the upcoming winter transfer window or in the summer of next year, with several names linked to a move to the Bavarian giant, most notably Norwegian Antonio Nusa, a player from RB Leipzig.
Bayern Munich showed interest in signing Antonio Nusa during the last summer transfer window, according to journalist Christian Falk, who confirmed that Max, the club's sporting director, is very impressed with the player's potential and wants to bring him to Munich.
Falk explained that Bayern Munich are searching for a left winger to replace Colombian Luis Díaz, but Antonio Nusa does not see himself as a backup option, as he wants to get regular playing minutes and compete for a starting position, which could complicate the possibility of his transfer to the Bavarian team.
Falk said: "This is true, Antonio Nusa was among Bayern's considerations during the summer. Max Eberl really likes this player and is very keen to bring him to Bayern Munich. The club was looking for a potential alternative to Luis Díaz, but Nusa is not a backup player; he wants to be involved consistently in the starting lineup."
He added: "RB Leipzig paid €21 million to sign the Norwegian player, but that amount will not be enough if Bayern Munich enters negotiations. I have heard that discussions are around an amount between €50 and €60 million, which is equivalent to £41.6 to £50 million."
He continued: "This amount will be very high to sign a player with the aim of using him as a substitute, so I don't think there is a great chance of signing Nusa next summer, but we have to wait and see what happens with other options. If attempts to sign younger players fail, Nusa's name may come back into play, although negotiations between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are usually difficult and expensive."
Antonio Nusa, 21, has joined RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024, making 85 appearances across competitions and scoring 16 goals. The Norwegian player is known for his ability to play on both the left and right wings, as well as being deployed in a central role. He is contracted to RB Leipzig until the summer of 2029.
