Lukeba dreams of moving to Barcelona next summer
French defender Castello Lukeba, who plays for RB Leipzig, dreams of moving to FC Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer window, after his name was linked with the Catalan club last summer, before the Blaugrana management turned to other options.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", citing "Sky Sports", Lukeba has changed his agent and joined the Excellence Sport Nation agency, which also manages the career of Jules Koundé, in a move linked to his desire to transfer to FC Barcelona.
The 23-year-old defender is contracted to RB Leipzig until 2029, but his release clause will drop from €80 million to €65 million next summer.
Sky Sports has reported that RB Leipzig needs to generate €100 million from player sales by 2027 to balance its finances, which could facilitate the departure of the French defender.
FC Barcelona are looking for a new centre-back to strengthen their squad, with Castello Lukeba being one of the potential names. He has a clear desire to wear the Catalan team's shirt and play at Spotify Camp Nou.
