The closest candidate to coach the Egypt U23 national team

Shobeir said on his radio program: "The Olympic team will play a friendly against Japan on November 17, without specifying the squad or even the head coach."

He added: "I asked some in the Football Association about the upcoming match for the Olympic national team, which will take place in 12 days, and I demanded the need for a swift announcement of the head coach for this team."

He added: "We talked about several candidates to take over the coaching of the Olympic team, but the closest is Hamada Sedky, and this is my expectation and not a decision from the Football Association, because Hamada is a product of the national teams, as he has coached many clubs."

The Egypt U23 national team is preparing to participate in the Africa U23 Cup of Nations, which will take place in Egypt in November 2027.

Ahmed Shobair has announced that the appointment of the new head coach for the Egypt U23 national team is nearing completion, revealing the name most likely to take on the role in the upcoming phase. Shawky Gharib, the head coach of the Egyptian Football Association, is currently responsible for overseeing the duties of the head coach of the U23 national team until a new manager is appointed.
