Mohsen Saleh suggests appointing Mohamed Salah as interim coach for the national team
Mohsen Saleh, the former head of the planning committee at Al Ahly FC, has suggested appointing Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team and star of Trabzonspor, as the interim head coach of the Pharaohs.
Mohsen Saleh wrote on his official account on social media platform "X": "Salah is the interim coach of the Egypt national team, due to time constraints, and he is the most suitable to lead the team in the next three matches."
He continued: "Salah has the personal and technical qualities to take on the task, and there are examples of stars who combined playing and leadership, Dalglish (Liverpool), Gullit and Vialli (Chelsea), Giggs (Man United), George Weah (Liberia)."
FIFA's disciplinary committee has decided to suspend Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan for 3 matches each, in addition to suspending player Mostafa Ziko for 5 matches and fining each of them $20,000.
Egypt's national team has received a penalty following the events and objections that occurred after their match against Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Egypt will face Malawi on November 13 and 17 in the third and fourth rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers.
