Al Habtoor denies any investment in Zamalek SC

Emirati businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor has denied plans to purchase Zamalek SC or invest in the football company at the White Castle in the near future.

Khalaf Al Habtoor posted on his official Facebook account: "I was surprised to see what is being circulated again in some media and social media about my intention to buy the Egyptian club Zamalek SC, or to make financial offers to invest in its football company."

He added: "I would like to clarify that this news is completely untrue and baseless, neither close nor far. I have not made any offer to buy the club or invest in it, nor have I entered into any negotiations in this regard, and everything published about financial amounts or alleged agreements has nothing to do with the truth."

He continued: "I am a sports enthusiast, and I have great respect and appreciation for the prestigious Zamalek SC and all Egyptian sports clubs and their fans. I am also always keen to support Egyptian youth and encourage their achievements, which I have practically expressed through our initiatives to support sports, including honoring the Egyptian national football team after their commendable performance in the FIFA World Cup."

He continued: "But supporting sports and youth is one thing, and investing in football clubs and managing them is something completely different. I do not have investments in this area, nor do I claim to have the necessary expertise to manage and develop sports clubs, and I have no plans to enter it."

He added: "I hope the media will verify accuracy before publishing news related to my name or my projects and investments, and not circulate incorrect information as if it were facts."

He concluded: "All my love and appreciation to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt and its dear people, and I wish Zamalek SC and all Egyptian clubs continued progress and success, and for Egyptian sports more achievements and brilliance."
