Mahmoud Gehad trains with the ball during Zamalek's training session
Zamalek SC have intensified their on-field preparations for the upcoming match against Wadi Degla in the Egyptian League Cup. The training session held today, Saturday, at the auxiliary pitch of the Air Defense Stadium saw a number of technical developments and updates concerning the team.
Zamalek will face Wadi Degla next Monday in the second round of the group stage of the Egyptian League Cup.
The training session began with Moamen Gamal, the team's head coach, holding a meeting with the players. He urged them to temporarily close the file on the Egyptian League and not to dwell on the recent victory over El Mokawloon SC, but to concentrate on preparing for the upcoming match against Wadi Degla.
In preparation for the upcoming match, coach Moisés focused on tactical and mental aspects during his meeting with the players, urging them to make the most of the training sessions to ensure their technical readiness and maintain full concentration. He then explained a set of specific ideas and tactical plans he aims to implement in the next match.
In a bid to give opportunities to young talents, the coaching staff has decided to promote four players from the youth and junior teams to participate in the collective training. The players are Ziad Medhat, a midfielder from the 2007 birth year team, Ahmed Hassan, a winger from the 2007 birth year team, as well as Ahmed Ibrahim, a striker from the 2009 birth year team, and Yassin Moisés, a midfielder from the 2009 birth year team.
In terms of injuries, Mahmoud Gehad, the team's midfielder, has been training with the ball on the sidelines after undergoing a therapeutic session under the supervision of the medical staff before the start of the collective training. This is part of the rehabilitation program designed to prepare him for a return to training in the upcoming period.
