Gimaraes on his clash with Mac Allister: I won't bow my head to anyone
Bruno Guimarães, the Brazilian midfielder for Arsenal, has revealed details of a verbal altercation he had with Alexis Mac Allister, the Argentine player for Liverpool, during the closing minutes of the match between the two teams, which ended with Arsenal winning by a goal to nil on Sunday evening, as part of the Premier League.
Tension escalated as Gimaraes was called off the pitch to be substituted, leading to a heated exchange with Mac Allister before his departure, which required intervention from Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhães to contain the situation and calm the atmosphere.
Bruno spoke about the incident after the match, during his time in the mixed zone at Anfield, considering that such altercations are a normal part of football, especially since Mac Allister constantly tries to psychologically influence his opponents during matches.
Arsenal player said: "It always happens. When we play against each other, each of us tries to get into the other's mind. This is part of football."
The player wearing the number 39 shirt added: "I will not bow my head to anyone," emphasizing that he is not affected by attempts at provocation and psychological maneuvers that occur on the pitch.
Tensions continued as Mac Allister clashed with Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard after the latter fell to the ground demanding a foul, before things escalated into a scuffle between players, while the referee managed to control the situation.
