Juventus freeze contract renewal talks amid results crisis
Juventus have decided to freeze all discussions regarding player contract renewals for the time being, as the management aims to focus the team's efforts entirely on improving their results and climbing the Serie A table, before returning to discuss contractual matters.
According to the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport", the anticipated agreement with defender Pierre Kalulu, who was aiming to extend his contract until 2031, has been postponed, as have discussions regarding the extension of midfielder Douglas Luiz's contract until 2030.
The list of postponed files also included Brazilian defender Bremer, who was expected to have a meeting to discuss his future, alongside Frenchman Khéphren Thuram, whose contractual future discussions have been delayed until he recovers from injury, as well as Portuguese Francisco Conceição, whose contract extension was expected to be discussed with his agent Jorge Mendes.
This step comes as Juventus' management seeks to restore stability and positive results, believing that the priority at the moment should be to improve the team's performance and accumulate points, with all renewal files returning to the negotiating table once the team's position in the standings improves.
