Di Lorenzo: Juventus clash will be fiery and I dream of giving Napoli fans more titles

Giovanni Di Lorenzo, the captain of SSC Napoli, has highlighted the significance of the upcoming match against Juventus, stating that his team is preparing in the best possible way to achieve a positive result. He also spoke about his relationship with his former coach Luciano Spalletti and his ambitions with the team in the coming years.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo said in statements to the Italian network "DAZN": "The Juventus vs SSC Napoli match will be very important and intense, and we are well aware of what this clash means for Napoli and for us. We are preparing in the best possible way to deliver a great match and achieve a great result."

Giovanni Di Lorenzo added about facing Spalletti, the current Juventus manager and former SSC Napoli coach: "It will be nice to meet the coach again, I have an important relationship with him, as he gave a lot to me and my teammates during the two years he spent with Napoli, and I remember that time with great pleasure."

Giovanni Di Lorenzo, the captain of SSC Napoli, addressed the team's attacking and defensive performance, saying: "It is true that we managed to score a lot of goals during the last match, but we also created chances in other matches. Perhaps we lacked effectiveness in finishing our attacks, but we will try to improve in the upcoming fixtures, as we need to regain our position in the league table."

He continued: "Defensively, we conceded some goals, and we are working with the coach and the technical staff to improve these important details, especially in matches of this magnitude."

Regarding the integration of some young players from the Primavera team into the first team, he explained: "We welcome them warmly into the group, as we have a healthy squad based on important values. I don't think their integration into the dressing room will be difficult, as we have a number of Italian players, which helps those coming from abroad, and we dedicate a lot of time to making them feel comfortable."

Giovanni Di Lorenzo celebrated reaching the same number of appearances as Ciro Ferrara, saying: "I salute him, and I am happy to have reached this number of appearances." He also noted that he matched the record of Kalidou Koulibaly in the number of matches across all competitions, adding: "He is another teammate I love, and I greet him warmly."

Regarding his ambition to increase his appearances, he said: "I don't have a specific goal, as I never expected to reach this number since joining SSC Napoli. This is my eighth season here, and I am always happy to wear this shirt, and I hope to be able to play more matches."

Giovanni Di Lorenzo spoke about the honor of wearing the captain's armband, saying: "I never imagined I would become the captain of the team; it is a great responsibility. Maradona wore this armband here, and so it is a beautiful responsibility. I try to be worthy of it every day and represent the dressing room in the best possible way."

Giovanni Di Lorenzo concluded his remarks by affirming his ambition to continue collecting trophies with SSC Napoli, stating: "I hope that during these years I can win something important and bring our fans more joy. We have achieved significant results in recent years, and we have seen what it means to win with this shirt. I hope that we can secure more titles in the near future."
