Aaron Danks, assistant coach of Bayern Munich, revealed details about the injuries sustained by several players during the match against Borussia Dortmund, which ended in a 2-2 draw on Saturday evening in the Bundesliga. He confirmed that the medical staff will play an important role in preparing the players over the coming days, ahead of the match against Atlético on Tuesday.

Danks provided an update on injuries, stating that Ismail Sabiri's injury looks quite serious at the ankle, while Serge Gnabry is suffering from a muscle injury. "I am still waiting to know more about Michael Olise's condition, as I have not received final information regarding his injury yet. The medical staff will play a crucial role in helping all players recover."

Regarding his assessment of the match, Danks explained: "We feel mixed emotions. We are very happy with the performance, especially in the second half, where we managed to impose our control quite well. We knew before the match that Borussia Dortmund has a strong defensive record, but I believe we found many ways to create chances today."

Lennart Karl added: "We ultimately feel disappointed not to have achieved victory, but I need to analyze the match for the players and clarify that the performance was there, that they did everything right, and we created the right chances, but things didn't go our way this time."

Bayern Munich's coach spoke about Joshua Kimmich's return to action after a difficult personal period, saying: "It has been a very tough time for him, but I expected him to show his professionalism by returning to the team and participating throughout the match, giving us the energy we are used to from Joshua Kimmich. He was present all over the pitch, whether when we had the ball or when we were defending, and his return was positive for him."

In response to a question about not bringing on Lennart Karl after the injuries to Serge Gnabry and Sabiri, and whether the player is unprepared for a match of this magnitude, Danks said: "Lennart Karl participated in the second half, and we certainly trust him in such matches. He came on for Michael Oliseh in the right-wing position and performed the same role he is used to doing."

He continued: "Before that, Alphonso Davies had been a good option for us on the left wing in recent weeks, so we decided to rely on him. Nathaniel Brown also played in the playmaker position against Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup match at the beginning of the year, which is why we included him in that position. This does not take anything away from Lennart in any way; he is a top-class player and had a wonderful moment when he came on, as he hit the crossbar with a shot, which was very positive for him."

Regarding defender Jonathan Tah's situation with Min-Jae Kim and Dayot Upamecano starting, and whether he has lost his place in the lineup, Dax replied: "We have three top-class defenders. I think the duo that played today, Min-Jae Kim and Upamecano, performed brilliantly and showed some very special moments. Jonathan Tah has also delivered two very good performances in the last two matches, and we are lucky to have players of this quality, all of whom are getting their chance to give their best for the team."

Danx concluded his remarks by addressing the impact of injuries on the match against Atlético on Tuesday, saying: "I understand the question, but I also see it as a very exciting match that we are looking forward to. We will have the strength and depth in our squad, and we have other players capable of stepping in and making an impact. It’s an exciting opportunity for us, and we are looking forward to it, and we will face this challenge with all our strength and will be ready on Tuesday."
