Abdul Wahid reveals absences and fixture congestion ahead of Newroz clash
Ahead of the anticipated clash between Al-Shorta and Newroz tomorrow evening at Al-Qafas Stadium in Baghdad, head coach Hussein Abdul Wahid and goalkeeper Hassan Ahmed held a press conference to discuss the team's preparations and manage continental fatigue, as well as the details surrounding absences and returns in the squad.
The head coach of Al-Police, Hussein Abdul Wahid, emphasized the difficulty of the upcoming match, explaining that the encounter requires the highest levels of focus and tactical discipline on the field.
Abbas Fadhil said in his speech during the press conference:
"Tomorrow's match will not be easy at all against a respectable team and competitor like Newroz. Our team is ready for the encounter, but we will miss the services of player Abbas Fadhil, who is still suffering from injury, in addition to the absence of Bassam Shakir following his recent injury."
Regarding the schedule crisis and physical effort, the coach explained:
"The continuous pressure of matches casts a heavy shadow on the team's performance as we face a game every three days, which is a tough challenge and not easy to deal with. However, on the other hand, the return of some injured players and the end of the suspension for player Abbas Fadhil in the last two matches is a strong addition and has given us multiple tactical options."
Abbas Fadhil praised the opponent, saying:
"Newroz is a team that presents modern and advanced football both at home and away. We focused our preparations on mentally and morally preparing the players more than on technical aspects due to the limited time, especially since we just faced a grueling Asian match against Al-Hussein Irbid two days ago, and we made sure to completely turn the page on that and direct our focus 100% towards the local league challenge."
Police goalkeeper Hassan Ahmed has confirmed the team's desire to present themselves well and continue to achieve positive results to strengthen their position in the standings.
Ahmad said with clear confidence:
"Our loyal fans are accustomed to victories and positive results, and we always strive to make them happy and secure the three points in every test. We are well aware that facing Newroz will be extremely difficult, especially since the opponent has shown a very different and distinctive image this season."
The goalkeeper of Al-Hussein concluded his remarks by saying:
"The coaching staff has clarified everything and diagnosed all the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing team. Preparations are going excellently, and all we hope for is to apply the duties and technical instructions entrusted to us accurately on the pitch to secure the win and dedicate the points to our large fanbase."
The statements from the coaching staff and the goalkeeper of Al-Police reflect a sense of realism and intense focus in dealing with fatigue and the pressure of competitions.
