Algerian winger Ilyes Hammar has emerged as one of the standout talents in the Dutch league this season, having regained his form with Cambuur, the club he joined during last summer's transfer window. This move has revitalised his career and bolstered his ambition to represent the Algerian national team.

The 23-year-old player has made a strong start to the season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in ten matches. His goal against Willem has been nominated for the best goal award for the tenth round of the Eredivisie, indicating his improvement and ability to make a difference offensively.

According to the website 'Win Win', Hammash's brilliance may give him the opportunity to catch the eyes of Algerian fans and the coaching staff of the national team, especially as the search for new options in the left-wing position continues, with Youssef Belaïli being sidelined from the 'Greens' considerations, and the instability of this position with no name capable of consistently fulfilling the role, despite the experience of other players, including Adel Boulbina.

Hammash began his professional career with French club Valenciennes in 2021, before moving to German side Schalke in the summer of 2024. However, his experience with the German team did not yield the desired results, prompting him to take on a new challenge in the Netherlands with Cambuur, who have recently been promoted to the Dutch league.

It seems that moving to a new environment has helped the player regain confidence and showcase his attacking potential, particularly in dribbling and creating chances, traits that invite comparison with Belaili, known for his individual skills and ability to operate in tight spaces.

However, maintaining his current level and continuing to deliver positive numbers are key factors in enhancing his chances of an international opportunity, given the competition for attacking positions within the Algerian national team.

Hmach has confirmed, during an interview with the website 'La Gazette du Fennec', his desire to represent the Algerian national team in the future, which adds more interest to his career, as fans are eager to see if his brilliance with Cambuur will pave the way for him to wear the jersey of the 'Desert Warriors'.
