AS Roma await Paulo Dybala's return ahead of Cagliari clash

AS Roma have received a positive boost ahead of their clash with Cagliari, as Argentine star Paulo Dybala is close to returning to the squad after recovering from the injury that kept him out of the last three matches, giving coach Gian Piero Gasperini hope of regaining one of his key attacking weapons.

Paulo Dybala has been absent from AS Roma due to a calf muscle injury sustained during the match against Real Madrid on October 14. He underwent medical examinations that showed significant improvement in his condition, bringing him closer to returning to the pitch for the upcoming match against Cagliari on Tuesday evening, as part of the ninth round of Serie A.

Gasperini confirmed during the pre-match press conference that Dybala is the closest player to recovery among the injured, stating: "The only player who can return is Dybala; we will conduct a physical test and see if we can put him on the bench, and I am optimistic." On the other hand, the coach ruled out the possibility of Mano Kony and Mile Svilar returning for the match.

AS Roma hope to regain the services of their Argentine star to continue competing for the top spots, especially after Paulo Dybala provided four assists in Serie A this season, making him one of the standout playmakers in the competition. The capital team is looking to return to winning ways after their thrilling 3-3 draw against SSC Napoli in the last round.
