Allegri: We dropped two points against AS Roma and the red card angered me
Massimiliano Allegri, the head coach of SSC Napoli, expressed his frustration after his team drew 3-3 with AS Roma, having failed to maintain their lead during the thrilling encounter held at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, in the eighth round of Serie A, considering that his team squandered the opportunity to secure victory and earn three points.
Massimiliano Allegri said in his post-match comments: "It was a beautiful and strong match, but there were moments when we should have been better defensively and not conceded goals. Since the start of the season, we have lost the lead in the scoreline many times, and these are two additional points we have lost."
The coach of SSC Napoli added: "Players must keep their composure, as they delivered a very good match. We had a chance to score a third goal when we were leading by two, but we missed it, and when you don't score, the game changes. The performance was positive overall, but I feel sorry that we were capable of winning and did not succeed in doing so."
Allegri discussed his dismissal in the closing minutes, stating: "I didn't say anything exceptional, but I was sent off by a decision from the fourth official, which means I won't speak again even if it was just a simple comment." The dismissal came after AS Roma equalized in the 89th minute, causing SSC Napoli to lose two valuable points in the Serie A title race.
