Nabil Maaloul: Confederation Cup competition could be stronger than CAF Champions League
Nabil Maaloul, the coach of CR Belouizdad, expects greater fan and media attention for the CAF Confederation Cup this season, given the participation of prominent clubs that are used to competing in the CAF Champions League. He believes that this could elevate the level of competition among the participating teams.
Ali Maaloul stated in television remarks that the presence of clubs like Al Ahly FC, CR Belouizdad, USM Alger, Al Ahli Tripoli, CS Sfaxien, and AS FAR Rabat will make the competition for the title stronger. He pointed out that some matches in the Confederation Cup could surpass in intensity those in the CAF Champions League.
The Tunisian coach emphasized that the CAF Champions League remains the strongest competition both technically and physically, affirming its position at the top of continental tournaments, even with the absence of some major clubs from the current edition, including Al Ahly FC, Sundowns, and Wydad, according to his statements.
Al Ahly FC coach Ali Maaloul has expressed his interest in Egyptian football, particularly the local league matches. He mentioned that he has been following some highlights of the match between Al Ahly FC and Al Qanah, which ended in a draw, as well as several other matches, including Zamalek SC's latest game and some matches involving Pyramids FC.
CR Belouizdad's coach has made statements as several experienced clubs compete for the CAF Confederation Cup title, amid expectations of heightened competition as the rounds progress and the decisive stage approaches.
