Nabil Maaloul, coach of CR Belouizdad, revealed the difficulties his team faced at the start of the current season due to suspensions carried over from last season. He confirmed that the team has succeeded in reaching the top of the Algerian Cup despite this, and he admitted that he considered resigning before the club management rejected his departure.

Maaloul explained, in statements to the Egyptian channel 'Modern MT', that the absence of several players due to a four-match suspension affected the team's start. However, he praised his players' ability to overcome these circumstances and achieve positive results that allowed them to top the tournament standings.

CR Belouizdad's coach addressed the draw against Ittihad Al-‘Aasimah, expressing his dissatisfaction with the refereeing decisions during the match, and considering that his team was close to achieving victory and extending the gap to six points, which amplified his feeling of disappointment after the end of the encounter.

Regarding his future at the helm of the coaching staff, Maaloul revealed that he discussed the possibility of leaving with the club's management and was inclined to submit his resignation. However, the officials rejected this option and insisted on his continued presence in his role.

The Tunisian coach confirmed he will continue his mission with the team, expressing hope to please CR Belouizdad fans as the club competes on three fronts, including the Algerian League, the Algerian Cup, and the CAF Confederation Cup.

A crisis is unfolding regarding the confrontation with the Mauritanian customs.

Maaloul dedicated part of his statements to the issue concerning the match between CR Belouizdad and the Mauritanian Customs in the Algerian Cup, criticizing the decision to postpone the encounter and what he deemed unacceptable treatment from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CR Belouizdad's team received notification of the match postponement the night before it was scheduled, despite the squad already arriving in Mauritania. They questioned the possibility of conducting the group stage draw before the fate of this match is decided.

Maaloul pointed out that the qualification of the Algerian team will place them in the third seed, while the potential qualification of the Mauritanian Customs following the loss of CR Belouizdad raises questions about how the seedings are determined and the implications of the decision.

The coach criticized the postponement of the international sports court's decision on the case to November 6, explaining that this date may force the match to be held after the international break, just a few days before the start of the group stage.

Maaloul considered that this scenario will put both teams in front of a very limited preparation period, given the importance of the match and the impact of its result on determining the qualifier for the group stage of the continental competition.
