Noufel Khasaf reveals details of his departure from CR Belouizdad
Algerian Noufel Khasaf, who recently joined Libyan Premier League side Ahli Benghazi from CR Belouizdad, revealed new details about his departure from the Algerian club, clarifying the circumstances surrounding the Libyan offer and the truth behind his former team's attempts to keep him, as well as the behind-the-scenes of an incident that led to his expulsion from a training session.
Khasif confirmed, in statements relayed by sports journalist Chouaib Kahloul, that he was not initially thinking about leaving CR Belouizdad, despite receiving a number of offers in the past, including an offer from Espérance Tunis. He noted that the communications with the Tunisian club were made through sporting director Chokri Wahar.
The player stated that his position changed after receiving an offer from Ahli Benghazi, which he described as very tempting and impossible to refuse, leading him to ultimately decide to embark on a new experience in the Libyan Premier League.
Khasif pointed out that CR Belouizdad's sporting director, Jaber Nammoun, was aware of the Libyan offer and showed openness towards the deal, as he entered negotiations with the management of Ahli Benghazi regarding the completion of the transfer.
He added that the final offer from the Libyan club reached him five days before the incident of his dismissal from the training session in Blida, confirming that the sporting director was aware of the details of the offer at that time.
Khasif discussed his attendance at the training session prior to his departure, clarifying that he had not activated the release clause in his contract at that time. He also mentioned that he had not signed his contract with Ahli Benghazi, which extends for two seasons, which led him to attend training with CR Belouizdad normally.
The player described his dismissal from training as a 'shock' that affected his mental state, noting that the impact of the incident increased after news of his expulsion spread on social media, while he was, according to his account, inside the changing rooms at the Chaker Stadium annex preparing to shower.
Khasif has denied accusations of 'treason' during the incident, responding to the sporting director in front of his teammates, reminding him that he was already aware of the offer made by Ahli Benghazi.
Regarding CR Belouizdad's attempts to retain his services, Khasif confirmed that he has indeed received an increase in his monthly salary, but he clarified that this increase was not counted as part of a bonus equivalent to 20% of the annual salary for the current season, which he had recently received.
The player revealed that he received a special grant during the season from the sporting director, before confirming that he returned it to him yesterday.
In this context, Khasif emphasized that he did not sense, during negotiations with the Libyan side, any real will or determination from the sporting director of CR Belouizdad to keep him in the team.
The Algerian defender confirmed that Behlloul is the one who renewed his contract with CR Belouizdad until 2030, and not the current sporting director Jaber Naimoun.
Khasif has denied that his move to Ahli Benghazi is merely a stepping stone for a future return to an Algerian club, confirming that his contract with the Libyan Premier League side runs for two seasons.
