Burnley have sacked their Belgian manager Nicky Hayes following a heavy defeat to Lincoln City by four goals to one, a result that has increased the pressure on the team amid a decline in results and performances in recent times.

The departure of Hain seems to be a matter of time after failing to lead the team to stability and achieve the desired results, with the recent defeat putting an end to his experience with the club, which had hoped to compete for a return to the Premier League.

Journalist Andrew Jones commented on the decision, stating that the dismissal was expected, and said that the result and performance against Lincoln City "cannot be justified", referring to the extent of the decline displayed by the team during the match.

He added that the most important question now concerns Burnley's future and the next steps the club will take, emphasizing that the current problems do not start or end with the manager, meaning that changing the coaching staff alone may not be enough to address the crisis.

Hayen took over as manager of Burnley last July on a three-year contract after achieving success with Club Brugge in Belgium, but he was unable to replicate that success during his time in England. The club has not yet announced the identity of the new manager who will take over from him.
