Tottenham defeat Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League

Tottenham have achieved a valuable victory over their hosts Chelsea, winning 2-0 in the match held at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, as part of the eighth round of the Premier League.

Tottenham took the lead in the 78th minute after Chelsea's goalkeeper, Mike Benders, failed to clear a corner, which ended up heading towards the goal. One of the Blues players attempted to clear it after it crossed the goal line, but the referee awarded the goal following confirmation via the electronic watch technology.

Chelsea's task became more difficult in the 80th minute as Cole Palmer received a second yellow card, having received his first in the 71st minute following an altercation with a Tottenham player, leaving the home side to finish the match with ten men.

Tottenham took advantage of the situation to add a second goal through Matías Tiel in the 87th minute, with a low shot from outside the penalty area that goalkeeper Benders failed to save.

With this victory, Tottenham have raised their tally to 9 points, temporarily sitting 12th in the Premier League table, while Chelsea have stalled at 13 points, temporarily in 4th place.
