Alaa Mihoob criticises Al Ahly players after draw against Qanah
Former Al Ahly FC star Alaa Mihoob has launched a fierce attack on the players following the thrilling 3-3 draw against Qanah FC on Wednesday evening, in the seventh round of the Egyptian League, expressing his deep dissatisfaction with the performance the team delivered during the match.
Mihoub stated during his appearance on the "Odat Al-Labs" program on Al-Nahar channel that he did not find a single player worthy of praise for their performance against Qanah FC. He emphasized that the criticisms are directed at the entire team, including the players who participated as substitutes during the match.
The former Al Ahly FC star clarified that achieving victories cannot happen in the absence of good performance from all players, questioning how one can expect to win from a team where no player has delivered the required level.
Mihoub has sent an angry message to Al Ahly FC players, saying: "Be ashamed of yourselves," emphasizing that what happened is not befitting the club's history or status, especially given the financial gap between Al Ahly FC players and their competitors. The stars of the red team earn large salaries and contracts compared to the players of Qanah FC, who play in the second division and do not enjoy the same fame.
A critic has expressed disappointment with the players' performance, stating that today's display is a disgrace. He noted that the large financial contracts some players receive have not reflected in their on-field contributions.
Midfielder Emam Ashour has faced direct criticism from Mihoub, who believes that Ashour did not provide the expected contribution during the match against Qanah FC, despite renewing his contract with the club. Mihoub described Ashour's performance as lacking a real impact on the team's play.
Former Al Ahly FC star pointed out that Emam Ashour has delivered a modest performance in the last two matches, using the expression "guest of honor" to describe his lack of impact on the pitch, in a clear criticism of what the team's fans expect from him.
Mohamed Mehoub concluded his statements by asserting that the performance displayed by Al Ahly FC against Qanah FC does not reflect the club's identity, stressing that the players did not deliver the level that fans are accustomed to seeing, and that the team has never been in such a shape.
Al Ahly FC took the lead during the match through Omar El Saaiy and Achraf Bencharki, before Qanah FC scored three goals. However, Moroccan defender Achraf Dari saved the Red Devils from defeat by scoring the equalizer in the 5th minute of added time.
Al Ahly FC has increased its tally to 17 points in second place in the Egyptian League, while Qanah FC has reached 8 points. This match has sparked anger among the fans of the red team and opened the door to widespread criticism of the players' performance.
