Amouta: Mistakes cost us the draw against Qanah and Al Ahly will not end the season empty-handed
Al Ahly FC's coach Al-Hussein Amouta has stated that the mistakes of his players led to the draw against Qanah FC in the Egyptian League, pointing out that Al Ahly FC will not end the season without a trophy.
Al Ahly FC drew with Qanah FC 3-3 on Wednesday evening at Cairo International Stadium, in the seventh week of the Egyptian League.
Amouta said during the press conference: "We wanted to win against Qanah FC, but I was surprised by some mistakes that were made and we were punished for them. The focus was only present at a few moments in the match; there was no determination and focus from the players in the game. For us, this result is negative."
He added: "In the last match against Al-Kharaitiyat, we were good despite the fatigue, and in the match against Zamalek, we were more than wonderful, but today there were some players who had a decline, and this is something that happens in football."
He explained: "The decline in the performance of some players is normal, and it is my role to help them regain their form. It is difficult to make changes between halves, as sometimes it can be a mental punishment."
While concluding, he stated: "I don't think Al Ahly FC will end the season without a title, and we are not shying away from responsibility; we are accountable. It's quite normal for players to make mistakes, but we have time to return to the required level. There is no issue with Mohamed Hani, and today we wasted an opportunity to win and secure three points."
