Leipzig coach: This happens all the time, and Diomande's level did not surprise me

Martin Demichelis, the head coach of RB Leipzig, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team's loss to Real Madrid by four goals to one at the Santiago Bernabéu, confirming that his players performed well in the first half, but the royal team showed their strength and experience in securing the victory.

Demićković said in his post-match comments: "I am not happy, of course, because we lost and conceded four goals. But I see that my team played good football with and without the ball. We didn't create many chances, except for a few attempts, but Real Madrid showed their strength and status, making the match very difficult. We didn't deserve to go into the break trailing by a goal, and then Real Madrid imposed their control even better."

RB Leipzig's coach spoke about Christoph Baumgartner, saying: "He has shown his potential, he is a leader and has an amazing ability to handle the ball. I was pleased that he was able to play for ten minutes after working hard, and that his participation came against this opponent and in this beautiful stadium. We need him."

On the lessons learned from the defeat: "I already knew that losing is not good, but we were a different team in this match. In the first half, we were at the level of the contest, and we did not feel uncomfortable without the ball. The opponent did not create much, and we had two chances, but there is a reason why Courtois has been Real Madrid's goalkeeper for years."

He added: "We went into the break trailing undeservedly. After that, we defended poorly for the second goal, and this is where Real Madrid feels comfortable. We were driven by the moment, and it felt like Real Madrid comes at you and punishes you. There is great strength from Mbappé and Diomande. There are things to correct and learn from, but I hold onto the good image we showed in the first half."

"On Diomande's level": He did not surprise me, as Mourinho has the ability to make decisions because he has an exceptional group of players, and Güler can also play in this position. Diomande's starting participation depends on him, as Real Madrid has bet on a player with great ability to make a difference. It will depend on his mentality, not his abilities."

He concluded his remarks by praising the strength of Real Madrid, saying: "This happens here all the time; the opponent may be better, but Real Madrid ends up winning against you. We tried to press high effectively, but Real Madrid is capable of creating a lot of danger thanks to the individual abilities of its players, and it's hard to keep up with them. Some goals came as a result of these abilities. Real Madrid is undoubtedly one of the contenders to win LaLiga and the Champions League."
